I came out here solo, no car, just a duffle bag, a backpack, and a dream to reconnect with the grindstone and Mother Nature. The vibes are chill peaceful and laid back. ✅ Clean sites ✅ Quiet nights ✅ Good people ✅ Cell signal (praise be) ✅ And enough stars in the sky to remind you who’s really in charge out here Staff is very helpful and chillPosted on Jeff TobinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. New campground that afforded us the ability to be in the mountains but centered between Denver and other attractions that were more west. We used this park for just shy of a week. Couple things that one might wonder: yes, it is right off the highway. It allows for simple access but there is noise; you are trading a state park atmosphere for convenience and full hook ups. It is small enough to be enjoyable. Sites are relatively backed up to one another but again, this was a convenience factor for location for us so we were not using the picnic table or anything. In fact, sites on the north side had their fire rings behind the spots which afforded more space to sit and hang out. Couple of tips: follow their directions to the park from their check in e-mail. Do not follow Google directions. Water pressure is a little off, depending on the site. Our first site had what seemed to be excellent pressure. Our second site had awful pressure, I think it was more of an issue with the spigot though but something to consider. We ended up using our tank and pump the entire time. Actually click their check in e-mail's link and check in before arrival. This is something that I am not used to based off of state and federal systems, or even some private resorts. Idaho Springs clearly uses some sort of algorithm system from a booking provider that will move your spot up until check in based on availability/other bookings. We were slated for spot 14 and I checked daily up until the day before arrival. That day before arrival I got an email asking to check in... I didn't click it because we were not there yet (they ask you to check in by phone or website only). After getting there, assuming I was in 14, and getting set up, I clicked through only to find that the system moved us to 11. Our fault for not checking... don't make our mistake. Great park though and will stay again. Bonus that they went all mulch in between sites so they wont have to upkeep grass.Posted on Scottie SummersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the friendly and accomodating hosts (who go above and beyond for the guests!), to the extremely clean showers and bathrooms - I was SO impressed. My camp site itself was very well maintained, and felt extremely safe (because of the positioning, I did not feel vulnerable to wildlife) even though I was car camping. The camp store has everything you could ever need, and there were several tourist services on site (Jeep rental, ropes courses, rafting). I would recommend anyone to stay here, and will definitely be back myself.Posted on Mike WilesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. First, the park: It is indeed off of I-70 and there's a hum of road noise in the distance, but it's not intrusive even as I sit here with the windows open. There are 39 sites, all with concrete pads and a fair amount of space in between. The road through the park is wider than most, and though almost all of the sites are back in spaces, there is plenty of room to maneuver. Our back in space (#35) backs up to trees and a mountainside so there's an additional sense of privacy. Everything is clean and well maintained. The park is clearly a labor of love for the owners and I'll be happy to support that again in the future. We would/will definitely stay here again next time through the Denver area. Now, our story. On our way to the park - about 15 miles away - the truck's transmission went into limp mode and wouldn't come out of third gear. We ended up atop a flatbed tow truck pulling the airstream into the park. The tow truck driver had enough room in a 31' flat bed and 33' trailer to put it into the back-in space without needing to do any fancy maneuvering. The park has breathing room - which is great. The truck is old (2009) and GMC no longer makes the transmission control module I need so we're on a week's wait while a used part comes from elsewhere in the country. We explained our dilemma to the park owners who wasted no time jumping in to help. They did a little juggling to open a space for us, and then offered to move our Airstream for us when moving day came since the truck is in the shop. There was no feeling like they were being inconvenienced (even though they were) and no hesitation on their part to see how they could help our situation - for which we're extremely grateful.Load moreVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
